M. C. Escher

Maurits Cornelis Escher (1898-1972) is one of the world’s most famous graphic artists. His art is enjoyed by millions of people all over the world, as can be seen on the many web sites on the internet. He was a Dutch made mathematically inspired woodcuts, lithographs, and mezzotints. I think he played with perspective and impossible spaces that is amzing artworks. In his work I recognize his observation of the world and the expressions of his own fantasies. M.C. Escher shows me that reality is wondrous, comprehensible and fascinating.

M. C. Escher Quotes:

“I believe that producing pictures, as I do, is almost solely a question of wanting so very much to do it well.”

“He who wonders discovers that this in itself is wonder.”

“We adore chaos because we love to produce order.”

Revels of the Rock Gods

Beijing based Chinese artist DU Kun incorporates his passion for rock music into his new oil painting series titled “Revels of the Rock Gods”. His works, which just debuted at Mizuma Gallery in Tokyo, Japan, are monumental portraits of rock musicians that appear carved out of mountains, cliffs, oceans, stones, trees and waterfalls. His first profession while he was in art school was as a rock musician himself, and has since frequently demonstrated his musical prowess. The artist began working on his “Gods of Rock Festival” series in 2014, creating the works out of his own experience with rock music. Du Kun often paints the four elements of earth, water, air and fire, and puts them in mysterious atmospheres that creates a mystic, misty air. In one of his early paintings “Who Lit Us”, there are candle-shaped buildings melting in the middle of a city, a horrifying and yet beautiful image just like the rock stars depicted in his Tokyo exhibit. The five musicians’ faces in this series are comprised of Buddhist temples and other traditional Chinese architectural structures, treating his subjects as if they were divine creatures overlooking sacred lands.

Stop Animation workshop

Stop Animation:Stop animation (also called stop motion animation) is animation that is captured one frame at time, with physical objects that are moved between frames. When play back the sequence of images rapidly, it creates the illusion of movement. If we understand how 2 D drawn animation (early Animation workshop) works, stop animation is similar, except using physical objects instead of images.

The basic process of animation involves taking a photograph of objects or characters, moving them slightly, and taking another photograph. When play back the images consecutively, the objects or characters appear to move on their own.
